May 25th 2020 was another red letter day in the Annals of the Province of Angamaly as Sr. Elsy George Koola and her team took charge of the Province. The ceremony of the Installation of the New Provincial and the team started at 10.30 am in the Chapel at Angamaly Provincialate with a simple and meaningful prayer service. An inspiring caption was placed in the placard, “Miles we have travelled
we thank you, miles we have to travel we hope for.” The service began in the portico with a prayer dance followed by a procession to the chapel.
The new and the old team members offered the Christmas tree sapling as the symbol of their offering to God. The sisters of the Province and the Congregation sent their love, blessings and prayerful vibration to the new Provincial and the team–
Sr. Elsy George Koola, Sr. Annette Varghese, Sr. Fabi Joseph, Sr. Jiji Mathew,
Sr. Rosily Thomas, Sr. Gracy Mathew and Sr. JyothiPrecilla, while thanking the outgoing team – Sr. LeelaDevasya, Sr. Ancy Joseph, Sr. Rosily Jose, Sr. Teresa Thomas, Sr. Vinitha Joseph, Sr. Shanthini Mathew, Sr.Annie Stella Abraham and Sr. Liji Firanzo. Though only very few sisters could participate in the ceremony due to the lock down and the spread of COVID- 19 pandemic, the spiritual presence of the sisters were felt very much.
As a sign of handing over the responsibility of the Province the outgoing Provincial Sr. Leela Devasya enveloped Sr. Elsy George Koola, the newly elected Provincial with the shawl.
After the prayer, a short felicitation programme was conducted and the new Provincial and the team were congratulated and wished by garlanding and a cake cutting.
Sr.Elsy George Koola, the new Provincial addressed the gathering and thanked the old team and shared her dreams for the future. Sr. Leela Devasya, the outgoing Provincial delivered few words of love and gratitude
After the simple meal around 2.30 pm, the official handing over was done at the office of the Provincial.
We thank God for Sr. Leela Devasya and the team for the miles they travelled for the growth and development of the Province and implore God’s grace upon Sr. Elsy George Koola and the team for the miles they have to travel in order to lead and guide the Province according to the will and plan of God.
